Peugeot 406 rough running and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Peugeot 406 was experiencing rough running, stalling at idle, and jerking during acceleration, with the check engine light on. The initial suspicion was a defective fuel pressure sensor, which was later confirmed by a workshop. The issue was resolved by fixing a loose cable connection to the sensor, costing 95€.

I haven't checked the fuel injectors yet. The fuel filter might be old... Could a clogged fuel filter really cause all those problems?

Well, a clogged filter would restrict fuel delivery, but honestly, those symptoms point more towards the fuel pressure sensor like you said. I eventually took mine to a workshop, and they confirmed it.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a shop, and you were right. It was the fuel pressure sensor, and the cable was loose. Cost me 95€, but it's fixed!

Hey! I also have a 406. Your symptoms sound very familiar! Did you check the fuel injectors too? How old is your fuel filter?
