Peugeot 406 stalling at idle
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Peugeot 406 diesel is experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, with a diagnostic error indicating incorrect fuel composition. The issue may be related to the fuel composition sensor, specifically a faulty cable or plug connection. It is recommended to have these components checked and possibly repaired at a workshop.

It's mostly just the stalling and the light. Where exactly should I be checking the cable and plug connections? Any specific component?

The error code is probably related to the fuel composition sensor. The cable or plug connection is the likely culprit. I suggest taking it to a workshop to have it checked out. It cost me 95€ to get mine fixed.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I'll take it to a shop and mention the fuel composition sensor cable. Hopefully, it's a quick fix!

I had something similar happen with my 406. Is it running rough or just stalling? Check the cable and plug connections, maybe it is defective.
