Peugeot 407 battery drain

My 2007 Peugeot 407 (gasoline engine) is giving me grief. The battery keeps draining, like completely dead. I'm getting a weird error message on the speedometer, the lights are dim and flickering, and the car throws an error code. Plus, the battery is super weak when I try to start it. My car has 267554 km. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my 407. Check your battery sensor. Are your battery terminals clean and tight?

Battery sensor? Where is that located, and how do I check it? Terminals look okay to me, but I'm no expert.

It's usually connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Honestly, my issue was a faulty sensor and it caused all sorts of electrical gremlins. Eventually had to take it to a workshop to get it sorted properly.

Thanks a lot! I'll check the sensor, but it sounds like a workshop visit is in order. My local mechanic confirmed that the battery sensor was defective and I had to pay 315€ for the repair. You were spot on!
