Peugeot 407 Charge Air Temperature Sensor Error

My 2010 Peugeot 407 diesel is throwing a charge air temperature sensor error. The check engine light is on, and the engine power is reduced. I also hear a loud hissing when I accelerate. I scanned it, and the error is stored. The sensor and cable seem okay visually, but could a faulty connection cause all this?

I had something similar with my 407. Reduced power and a weird noise. I didn't check the sensor itself, but double check those wires. Seems to be a common failure point. Have you tried cleaning the contacts?

Cleaning the contacts, huh? I hadn't thought of that! What did you use to clean them? Also, did you experience the hissing sound as well? I thought I might have a boost leak somewhere but the error code points to the sensor.

I used electrical contact cleaner. And yeah, the hissing was definitely there. It's worth checking the sensor connections, but honestly, mine ended up needing a visit to the workshop. Saved me a lot of headache.

Electrical cleaner and a close inspection didn't fix it, so I took it to a local shop, and you were right. Turned out to be a defective connection - they charged me 95€ to fix it. No more error, no more hissing, and the power is back!
