Peugeot 407 climate control malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Peugeot 407 is experiencing climate control issues, with the panel not functioning, low heating output, and non-engaging air conditioning. The suspected cause is a defective cable or plug connection. A suggested solution is to inspect the blower motor resistor and its wiring harness for corrosion or damage, as these components can lead to electrical faults. It is recommended to have a workshop diagnose and repair the issue for accurate resolution.

Thanks! Could you explain where the blower motor resistor is located and how to check the wiring harness for problems? I want to be thorough.

The resistor is usually near the blower motor, often under the dash on the passenger side. Tracing the wires is a pain. Honestly, if you're not super comfortable with electrical stuff, it might be worth getting a workshop to take a peek. They can diagnose it properly. I got mine checked out and the bill was about 95€. Best money I ever spent.

Thanks for the advice and the cost estimate. I'll visit a workshop to have the cable and plug connections checked and repaired if needed.

Sounds familiar! I have a 407 too, and had similar gremlins in the climate control. It was like the whole system had a mind of its own. Check the blower motor resistor and its wiring harness. Those connectors can get corroded or damaged, causing all sorts of weird electrical faults. It’s like a domino effect when those things go bad.
