Peugeot 407 Cruise Control Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Peugeot 407 owner experiences a cruise control failure, with the speedometer showing an error and the system being unresponsive. The issue is suspected to be due to a bad connection, possibly a flaky cable or plug. A similar case suggested checking the throttle body actuator, as a faulty actuator or defective plug connection could disrupt the cruise control system. It is recommended to take the car to a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thanks! Is there any easy way to test the throttle body actuator or the connection, or am I better off just taking it in?

Honestly, without the right diagnostic tools, it's tough to pinpoint the exact problem. The error codes can be vague. I chased a similar issue for ages before finally admitting defeat and taking it to a workshop. They found a defective plug connection on the component. Cost me 95€ to sort out.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order. 95€ isn't too bad. Seems like a faulty system, but I'll mention what you suggested about the throttle body actuator and the possibility of a defective cable or plug connection.

I had something similar happen on my Peugeot 407. I'd check the throttle body actuator. The actuator controls the throttle plate in response to signals from the ECU (Engine Control Unit). If it's faulty, it can definitely mess with the cruise control system.
