Peugeot 407 diesel crankcase ventilation issue
Summary of the thread
A Peugeot 407 diesel is experiencing issues such as a check engine light, reduced power, and smoke during acceleration, suspected to be related to the crankcase ventilation valve. These symptoms, along with rough idling and a hissing sound, suggest a defective crankcase ventilation system. A similar case confirmed the crankcase ventilation valve as the cause, and a workshop diagnosis verified this, leading to a repair quote.

Rough idling sometimes, yes. And now that you mention it, I think I did hear something like a hissing sound recently. Was it definitely the crankcase valve for you?

Yep, that's exactly what it was. Ended up being a defective crankcase ventilation. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop.

I've got a 407 diesel too. Those symptoms sound familiar. Had a similar issue a while back. Any rough idling or hissing sounds?
