Thanks for the quick reply! When you say wiring harness, do you mean the big bundle of wires connected to the steering column itself? And how easy is it to access? I'm not a total expert, so I don't want to start pulling things apart without knowing what I'm doing. Is it something a novice can handle, or should I leave it to the professionals?

Yes, the bundle connected directly to the steering column. Given the error codes and the symptoms, and considering you're not deeply familiar with car electrics, I strongly recommend taking it to a workshop. A defective cable or plug connection can lead to even more issues. It's the safest bet.

Okay, I hear you. I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed a defective connector, and they fixed it for 95€. Thanks a lot for your help and for preventing me from potentially causing more damage!

I had a similar issue with my 407. The error memory stored the same issue: electric steering column cannot be adjusted. Before going too deep, have you checked the wiring harness under the steering wheel? Sometimes a loose connection can cause havoc with the electrical system.
