Peugeot 407 Error Code
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot 407 owner experienced persistent error codes on the infotainment and speedometer displays, which reappeared after attempts to reset them with a basic OBD-II scanner. The issue was identified as incorrect coding of a control module. The recommended solution was to visit a workshop with specialized diagnostic equipment to read Peugeot-specific codes, leading to the successful recoding of the ECU and resolution of the problem.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm not entirely sure. The scanner just gives me a generic fault code, nothing specific. Could it be a bigger issue?

In my case, the error was due to incorrect coding of one of the control modules. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop with diagnostic equipment that can properly read the Peugeot-specific codes. They should be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right. It was a coding issue. They recoded the ECU and cleared the fault. Cost me 360€, but at least it's fixed now!

I had a similar issue with my 407. Does the error code relate to any specific system, like ABS or the fuel injection?
