Peugeot 407 Glow Control Unit Issue

Hi, I have a 2011 Peugeot 407 diesel with almost 300k km. The preheating lamp doesn't switch off, the check engine light is on, and it smokes when accelerating. Diagnostic test says glow control unit defective. Could it just be a bad connection?

I had similar issues with my 407 diesel. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the glow control unit? That can cause those symptoms.

You had the same symptoms, even the smoke? Where exactly was the bad connection you found?

Yep, exact same. I didn't find it myself, I'm no mechanic. But the workshop told me it was the cable or plug connection to the glow control unit. I'd get it checked out.

Thanks! It was indeed the cable. Workshop confirmed it, and fixed it for 95€. Runs like new again.
