Peugeot 407 Height Control Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 407 owner experienced a 'height control restricted' warning, uneven ride height, and misaligned headlights. The issue was suspected to be a defective control rod on the height adjustment sensor. After confirming the problem and replacing the faulty control rod, the vehicle's ride and headlight alignment were restored to normal.

Ride height difference? I'll have to take a closer look. I was so focused on the lights and the warning that I didn't really think about that. Corrosion... Where exactly are these leveling sensors located? And what am I looking for?

Yes, check if one side is lower than the other. The sensors are usually located near the suspension components. Look for anything out of the ordinary – broken wires, loose connections, or physical damage to the sensor itself. But honestly, based on your description and the error codes, it really does sound like a faulty sensor or the control rod. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop; they'll have the proper tools to diagnose it correctly.

I appreciate you confirming my suspicions and pointing me in the right direction. The control rod on the leveling sensor was indeed the culprit. 110€ later, and the Peugeot's riding smooth and level again. No more disco headlights!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 407. Is the ride height noticeably different on one side compared to the other? Have you checked the leveling sensor connections for corrosion or damage?
