Peugeot 407 Jerking Acceleration and Hissing Noise

Hello. I have a 2005 Peugeot 407 with a gasoline engine, currently at 134424 km. I'm experiencing some issues: the check engine light is on, and the car jerks when accelerating. I also hear a whistling and loud hissing noise during acceleration, and sometimes the engine stalls at idle. Fuel consumption seems higher, and engine power is reduced. After some investigation, it seems like it could be a bad turbo boost pressure sensor, possibly a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else had this issue?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my 407. Check engine light, jerking acceleration, and weird noises. Have you inspected the intake manifold or any boost leaks? Could be related to the air intake system as well.

Thanks for the reply. You mentioned checking the intake manifold and boost leaks. Did you notice any specific signs, like cracks or loose connections? Where exactly should I be looking to narrow down the potential issue with the turbo boost?

I didn't get too deep into it myself, to be honest. I took it to a workshop when the hissing got really loud. They confirmed it was related to the boost pressure and some vacuum lines. Best to get it checked professionally before you mess something else up.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed the boost pressure sensor and a faulty connection. The repair cost 95€. The car runs smoothly again.
