Peugeot 407 Lean Running Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 407 diesel engine is experiencing lean running issues, characterized by reduced power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking during acceleration. The problem could be caused by defective fuel injectors, as confirmed by a workshop diagnosis. Replacing the injectors resolved the issue.

Thanks. When your car had these symptoms, did a diagnostic scan show a lean air-fuel ratio? Trying to figure out the most likely cause before I start fixing things.

Yes, the scan showed a persistent lean condition. I hoped it was something simple like spark plugs or cleaning the throttle body, but the lean running continued. With your symptoms and low mileage, a workshop might be best.

Thanks for the lean running advice. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed defective fuel injectors. Replacing them fixed it, costing 515€. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have a 407 with a similar diesel. Those symptoms are frustrating. When mine acted like that, the oxygen sensor and mass air flow sensor were the problem. Did you check those?
