Peugeot 407 NOx Sensor Error

Alright, I've got a bit of a head-scratcher. My 2008 Peugeot 407, gasoline engine, is throwing up some error codes. Check engine light is on, and the diagnostics are pointing towards the NOx sensor. I also noticed a slight exhaust leak. I'm leaning towards a dodgy connection or plug on the sensor itself. Anyone else wrestled with this demon?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 407. Same symptoms - check engine light and error codes related to the NOx sensor. Have you checked the catalytic converter? It can sometimes trigger those codes as well. It's like blaming the messenger for the bad news from afar.

Good shout. I was kinda hoping it wasn't the catalytic converter. So, when you say 'similar issue,' did it turn out to be the sensor itself, or something else entirely? Any chance you recall the specific error code?

Yeah, in my case, it was definitely the NOx sensor. The code pointed directly to it, and the garage confirmed it with their diagnostics. I'd say get it checked out properly by a mechanic. They can pinpoint the problem and save you potentially throwing money at the wrong thing.

Thanks for the insight. I'll get it booked in for a proper diagnostic check. Turns out it was the NOx sensor and a faulty connection, just like I thought. Cost me 95€ for the part and labor. Sorted now!
