Peugeot 407 outside temperature sensor issues
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 407 is experiencing issues with the outside temperature sensor, leading to an error code P0070, malfunctioning AC, freezing windshield washer fluid, and non-working mirror heating. The problem is likely due to a faulty sensor or a cable/connector issue. The solution involved addressing a corroded connector, which resolved the issues after repair.

Thanks! Sorry, forgot the code. It's P0070 - Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction. Did yours throw the same code?

Yep, P0070 rings a bell. Honestly, I fiddled with it for a bit, checking the wiring near the sensor (it's usually behind the front bumper), but I eventually gave up and took it to a workshop. It wasn't worth the headache for me.

Thanks for the info! Ended up being exactly what was suspected: corroded connector. 95€ later all the systems are working again.

Sounds familiar. I have a 407 too. I had similar symptoms – the AC refusing to work was the most annoying thing. When you say 'error code', which one are you getting? An outside vehicle temperature sensor reports the ambient air temperature to the car's computer, which controls the air conditioning, defogging, and other climate-related functions. A faulty sensor tells the computer the incorrect temperature, or no temperature, or an implausible one, causing all sorts of issues.
