Peugeot 407 rear ventilation flap issue

My 2007 Peugeot 407 (gasoline engine) with 219179 km has an AC issue. It's not cooling, and I suspect the rear ventilation flap. The diagnostic tool shows an error, and the climate control seems to be malfunctioning, running but with no cold air to the rear. Fuses are fine, but I suspect a defective cable or plug. Any ideas?

I also have a 407 and had a similar issue last year. The automatic climate control went haywire, and it turned out to be a flap actuator. Have you checked the air distribution? Sometimes, it gets stuck. Is the air circulation behaving strangely as well?

That's interesting about the flap actuator. When you say 'air distribution,' do you mean manually checking if the air is directed correctly from the vents, or is there something specific I should be looking for with the system diagnostics? And where is this flap actuator located?

Yes, check the vent output manually. If it feels weak or misdirected, that could be the culprit. As for the actuator's location, I didn't get my hands dirty. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the flap actuator was faulty. If it's the same issue, going to a mechanic might be the easiest way to solve this one.

Took it to the workshop as suggested. It was the rear ventilation flap actuator, just like you suspected. Defective cable/plug connection was the cause. Total cost: 95€ Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction!
