Peugeot 407 Stalling After Fuel Filter Change
Summary of the thread
After changing the fuel filter on a 2011 Peugeot 407 diesel, the vehicle experienced stalling at idle, reduced power, and a check engine light. The initial suspicion was a defective fuel pressure regulator. A diagnostic confirmed the regulator was faulty, and replacing it resolved the issues.

Thanks for the insights. I didn't measure the pressure drop, but the symptoms suggest it. Given your Saab experience, what fixed it for you? Was it the regulator, or something else?

In my case with the Saab, the new fuel filter was faulty and caused fuel delivery problems. I'd advise visiting a workshop. They can diagnose the fuel pressure regulator for you.

Following a diagnostic, the fuel pressure regulator was indeed defective, as suspected. Replacement cost 45€. The symptoms are now gone. Thanks for the help.

Sounds frustrating! My old Saab 9-3 had similar issues after a fuel filter change: check engine light, rough idling, the works. Did you notice any pressure drop in the fuel line after the change? Check the fuel pump too, in case it's struggling. Could also be a faulty pressure sensor.
