Peugeot 407 Washer Fluid Warning
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Peugeot 407 displayed a persistent 'washer fluid low' warning, and the windshield washer system was inoperative despite topping up the fluid. The issue was traced to a defective washer motor, which was confirmed by the absence of motor noise when attempting to activate the system. After replacing the faulty motor, the windshield cleaning function was restored.

Thanks for the tip. I can't hear any motor noise. Where is the windshield washer motor located in the Peugeot 407?

On my Astra, it was accessible in the wheel well, behind the plastic liner. But based on your description, it seems more than just the sensor. If the motor isn't running and you've checked the fuse, I'd recommend a workshop visit. Could be a dead pump.

Thanks again. Took it to the shop. The washer motor was indeed defective. Replaced it for 25€. Windshield cleaning works again.

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The warning light stayed on even after refilling. I'd check the washer motor itself. It might be faulty or the connector corroded. Does the motor make any noise when you try to activate the windshield cleaning?
