Interesting. Was it difficult to diagnose? Where was the defective connection in your Astra? Near the fuse box or in the door itself?

Diagnosis was tricky, like finding a needle in a haystack. The connection was inside the door itself. I just took it to a workshop. Much quicker, and they had the right tools to test everything properly.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll do the same. Electrical gremlins are beyond me. Just got it back from the shop. You were spot on! Turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection. Cost me 95€, but at least it's fixed.

I had a similar problem with my old Opel Astra. The door locks went crazy, starting with one door, then spreading. It turned out to be a defective cable or plug connection to the locking mechanism. Like a dodgy wire in a lamp – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
