Peugeot 408 climate control problem

Hi, I'm having climate control issues with my 2010 Peugeot 408 (gasoline engine). It's got 122666 km on the clock. The automatic temperature control has stopped working, and there's an error stored in the system's memory. Plus, the air conditioning simply refuses to switch on. I've had a look at the obvious things, like fuses, but no luck. Any ideas?

Whoa, sounds frustrating! Is the temperature reading completely off, or just stuck at one value? Maybe the sensor itself is kaput? Have you tried wiggling the cables and plug connected to the interior temperature sensor? Could be a loose connection.

Thanks for the reply! When you say 'sensor itself', are you talking about the one inside the cabin? And where exactly is that located in a 408? I'm not sure where to start looking for the cable and plug you mentioned.

Yep, the interior temperature sensor, the one that reads the cabin temperature. Honestly, finding it can be a pain. Given the symptoms, and the fact you've checked fuses, it's probably a dodgy connection or the sensor itself. If you're not comfortable digging around, might be worth a quick trip to a workshop. They'll diagnose it in no time.

Okay, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on! It was indeed a faulty connection to the interior temperature sensor. They fixed the cable/plug for 95€. Climate control is now working perfectly again. Thanks!
