Fuses checked. All good. Error memory points directly to the clutch pedal switch. Just wondering if the cable issue is a common thing, or something else I'm missing before replacing parts.

Ah, the clutch switch! Yeah, that's probably it then. If the error's specific, and fuses are okay, chasing wires might be a pain. Maybe just bite the bullet and get a new switch installed. Could be a dodgy internal connection. I ended up at a workshop. Cost me 95€. You can probably find a better deal.

Sounds familiar. I've got a 408, though I can't recall the year, and had similar problems. No cruise control, and sometimes it just wouldn't start. Did you check the simple stuff first, like fuses?
