Thanks for the reply. I haven't checked the throttle position directly, but the air intake seems clear. When you had a similar issue, was it definitely the throttle valve causing it, or something else? How were you able to fix it?

Well, after a bit of back and forth, my mechanic confirmed it was indeed the throttle valve. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself if you're not 100% sure. It might be best to take it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed and repaired. Save yourself some potential headaches, you know?

Okay, thanks for confirming. I appreciate the advice. I'll take it to a workshop. Turns out the defective accelerator pedal module was the cause. Repair cost me 205€. Hopefully, this will improve the fuel efficiency.

Hello! Funny you should mention that. I have a 408 diesel too, and your symptoms sound awfully familiar to what I experienced not too long ago. High fuel consumption and poor starts, eh? Did you ever check the throttle position or the air intake for any obstructions? It really does sound like a throttle valve issue to me!
