Peugeot 408 Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure

Hi, I've got a 2023 Peugeot 408 hybrid and the multifunction steering wheel has stopped working. The dash is showing an error, and diagnostics confirm it's logged in the error memory. Steering controls are dead. Anyone else seen this?

Yep, sounds familiar. I have a 408 too. Had similar issues with the steering controls a while back. Vehicle diagnostics kept pointing to an electrical fault but couldn't pinpoint it. Was the error intermittent at first or did it just suddenly stop working?

It was sudden. Everything was fine, then nothing. Any idea what eventually fixed yours?

Mine was similar, one minute working, next minute dead. Unfortunately, it ended up being a dodgy cable connection inside the steering wheel. New cable fixed it. I'd recommend getting it checked by a workshop. They'll need to run some proper diagnostics on the control module to confirm. Prepare for them to suggest a replacement steering wheel, even if it's "just" a cable. Hopefully it is not the entire steering wheel, but I would go and let the guys have a look at it.

Thanks for the info. Took it to the dealer, and you were spot on – defective cable connection in the steering wheel. 95€ later, it's sorted.
