Thanks for your input! Where exactly is the engine oil temperature sensor located in a 408? I’m not sure where to start looking for the cable and plug.

The engine oil temperature sensor on your 2017 Peugeot 408 diesel is typically located on the engine block, near the oil filter housing. Trace the wiring from the sensor to its connector. Based on your description and the error codes, the cable or plug connection is likely the root cause. Unfortunately, without physical examination, I can't pinpoint it further. I recommend you visit a qualified workshop to properly diagnose and rectify the sensor/wiring.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help. Took it to a shop, and it was indeed the connector to the temp sensor. New connector and sensor came to about 95€ including labor. All good now!

Greetings! The symptoms you describe strongly suggest an issue within the engine oil temperature sensing circuit. The intermittent nature of the oil pressure lamp further hints at a possible electrical fault. Have you checked the wiring and connector to the temperature sensor for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections? Think of it like a loose wire on a Christmas tree light – it can cause the whole string to flicker.
