Hey, yes for sure, since the mechanic fixed it, the transmission runs like clockwork. The gearbox oil pressure error I used to have has completely disappeared. You just trust the car better once you know everything is back to normal. So far nothing else has come up and I hope it stays that way! In terms of cost, the repair of the faulty gearbox control unit cost me around €1000. Not exactly cheap, I know, but sometimes you have to dig deeper into your pockets to make sure the car is repaired properly. And hey, what's a bit of money compared to safety on the road, right? I hope this helps you!

Hey, I'm very reassured that your car hasn't had any further problems since the repair. And the amount is certainly high, but you're right, safety is a priority. Also, I think if it's done well, it will go longer, and in the long run it might even come out cheaper. Thanks for all the info, it was really helpful and gave me a better idea of what to expect. I will now start looking for a good mechanic. Thanks again, and let's hope for a similar hassle free experience!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Peugeot 508. It's never easy. In my case, the transmission control unit was defective. The symptoms were pretty similar, also with this grinding noise and grinding of the gears. In the end, the unit had to be completely replaced, which was no easy job. Had also initially thought it might be the gearbox oil, but I was wrong. A mechanic I know handled it well. So don't worry, it can be fixed. Just one more little thing: stay away from cheap workshops, it was quite an effort in my case. So it's better to go to a specialist who knows what he's doing. Hope this helps you!
