Peugeot 5008 AC and Error Message
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Peugeot 5008 is experiencing issues with the air conditioning system, accompanied by an error message on the speedometer and a stored error in the memory. The problem is suspected to be related to the temperature sensor heat exchanger. A similar case revealed that a defective air conditioning control unit could cause incorrect sensor readings. It is recommended to have the error codes read professionally to diagnose the issue accurately, potentially requiring a workshop visit for sensor calibration or replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply! No, the temperature gauge seems normal, and the engine isn't running hot. It all happened suddenly. Do you think it's something I can fix myself, or am I looking at a trip to the workshop?

Okay, since your temperature gauge is normal that probably rules out some of the simpler stuff. I tried a couple of things myself but ended up taking mine in, and it turned out the air conditioning control unit was defective, causing the sensor to report incorrect values. Get the error codes read properly; that's the best starting point. It ended up costing me around 980€.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience. I guess I'll bite the bullet and take it to the workshop. They said it was the temperature sensor heat exchanger defective and that a sensor calibration would be performed. Hopefully, it won't cost as much as yours!

Hello, I noticed that the climate control in my 2017 Peugeot 5008 doesn't start when the car is very hot from the sun. It starts and cools once it cools down.

Check if the issue might be related to the AC system's pressure switch. When the car is very hot, the pressure in the AC system can increase, causing the switch to prevent the compressor from engaging. Ensure the refrigerant level is correct, as low refrigerant can also cause pressure issues. If the problem persists, it might be best to have a professional inspect the system. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions!

I had a similar issue with my 5008. The error message and the AC not switching on are dead giveaways. Did you notice anything else, like maybe the engine running a bit hotter than usual or the temperature gauge acting strangely before the error popped up?
