Peugeot 5008 AC not cooling
Summary of the thread
The air conditioning in a 2016 Peugeot 5008 stopped cooling, with the system not switching on at all. Initial checks of fuses showed no issues, leading to suspicions about the AC relay or blower motor. A suggestion was made to check the system pressure, as low refrigerant levels could prevent the compressor from engaging. Ultimately, a workshop inspection revealed a defect in the air conditioning system, requiring a repair.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, when I press the AC button, I don't hear or feel the compressor kick in at all. I haven't had the system pressure checked. Is that something I can do myself, or does it need special equipment? I'm just trying to figure out if it's a simple fix or something more complicated.

Checking the system pressure properly requires specialized equipment. Based on your description, it does sound like a potential refrigerant issue or perhaps a defect in individual valves. However, without the proper tools, diagnosis is difficult. I advise taking it to a workshop for AC efficiency inspection.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I suspected it might be beyond my capabilities. I'll book it in for a checkup. The workshop confirmed it was a defect in the air conditioning system, and the repair cost will be around 1000€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

I had a similar issue with my 5008. When you say it doesn't switch on, do you mean the compressor isn't engaging? Have you had the system pressure checked? Sometimes a low refrigerant level can prevent the compressor from starting to protect it from damage. AC maintenance is essential for correct temperature control.
