Peugeot 5008 Airbag Warning Light

My 2011 Peugeot 5008 diesel, with only 35k on the clock, has the airbag warning lamp lit. I'm guessing it's a dodgy cable or plug somewhere in the airbag system, which seems to be a common issue. Has anyone else seen this?

I had a similar airbag light issue on my old Vauxhall Astra, although that was a petrol engine, not diesel. Turned out to be a faulty connection to one of the crash sensors. The mechanic said they're prone to corrosion. Did you check all the connections under the seats? They can sometimes get kicked or knocked loose.

Interesting! Under the seats, eh? I was focusing more on the airbag module itself. Which crash sensor was it on your Astra? And how difficult was it to get to the connections? Don't really want to mess around with those airbag connectors if I don't have to!

I can't remember exactly which one, sorry! But it was definitely corroded. I think it's best to let a workshop do it. In my case it was the crash sensor connection and it’ll be the same in your case. I think you could easily damage something else.

Cheers for the advice! Dropped it off at the shop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a corroded connector on one of the side airbag sensors. 95€ later and it's sorted. Appreciate the help!
