Peugeot 5008 Alarm Malfunction

I'm having issues with my 2018 Peugeot 5008 diesel. Mileage is at 106843 km. The anti-theft alarm system is malfunctioning. I get an error stored in the error memory, and the alarm system itself is non-functional. My suspicion is that the alarm control is coded to activate optical locking (indicators). Anyone experienced this?

Alarm on the 5008, eh? Sounds familiar. Had a similar issue a while back. Did you check the battery? A power dip can sometimes mess with the alarm system.

Battery seems fine, voltage is normal. I thought the alarm system had its own separate power source. You mean a general power failure can cause such weird issues?

Yes, a general power fluctuation in the car's system can definitely trigger unexpected behavior in the alarm. Mine was similar. You can keep troubleshooting, but I ended up just taking it to the workshop.

Thanks for confirming that. Turns out you were right. The workshop diagnosed the alarm module needing a reset because of the voltage issue. They recoded it, and it cost me 45€. Problem solved.
