Peugeot 5008 boost pressure issue

Peugeot 5008 (2017, gasoline engine) owners, my boost pressure system is toast. I'm seeing the check engine light, experiencing reduced engine power and awful engine response. It even stalls at idle sometimes, and my fuel consumption has skyrocketed! I can also hear whistling and hissing when accelerating. Anyone else battled similar issues? Could a wastegate valve defect cause all this?

Sounds rough! I had a similar experience with my 5008, although the stalling wasn't as frequent. Did you check the intercooler pipes for leaks? The symptoms are pretty much the same as when I had a hose failure. Was there a significant loss of power?

Good shout on the intercooler pipes! I'll give them a look-over. But wouldn't a split hose usually throw a different code? And yeah, the power loss is huge. Climbing hills feels like an eternity. Was your boost pressure system completely buggered as well?

Yeah, mine was completely shot. Honestly, with all those symptoms piling up, it points to a deeper problem than just a split hose. Given the whistling and hissing noises, the wastegate valve issue seems plausible. I'd get it professionally diagnosed. Could save you a lot of headaches. My problem was tricky and ended up costing me a pretty penny.

Thanks for the insight! I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out it WAS the wastegate valve. 860€ lighter now, but at least she's running like new again!
