Peugeot 5008 charge air temperature sensor error

Help! My 2019 Peugeot 5008 diesel is throwing a charge air temperature sensor error and I'm pulling my hair out! The check engine light is on, and the engine power is noticeably reduced. I'm also hearing a weird whistling and loud hissing sound when I accelerate, and of course, the error is stored in the error memory. The car has 168546 km on the clock. Could this be related to a defective cable or plug connection? Any ideas before I end up at the mechanic?

I had a similar experience with my 5008 - same symptoms, including that infuriating hissing sound! Does the whistling sound change depending on how hard you're accelerating?

Yes, the whistling gets louder the harder I press the accelerator! It's driving me crazy. Was your issue definitely the charge air temperature sensor, and if so, what exactly was the problem? A faulty sensor or a wiring issue?

Based on your description, it sounds like the same problem I encountered. Officially diagnosed as the charge air temperature sensor circuit. I recommend seeking professional diagnosis and repair. In my case, the final bill came to around 95€. Don't delay, as prolonged driving with this issue can lead to further complications.

Thank you so much for confirming! I suspected as much, especially after hearing you describe it. I will bring it to the workshop. It is good to know what to expect, I really appreciate your help!
