Peugeot 5008 Diesel Injection Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Peugeot 5008 diesel is experiencing injection issues, leading to increased fuel consumption, reduced power, stalling when idling, and smoke during acceleration. Diagnostics suggest a faulty cable or plug as the cause. A similar case was resolved by inspecting the EGR valve and testing the injectors, ultimately identifying a defective plug connection, which was repaired at a cost.

Thanks, I'll have the EGR valve checked. What specific symptoms did you see with your 5008, and what else should I investigate?

Mine would hesitate on acceleration and sometimes cut out completely at junctions, particularly when cold. Fuel consumption also took a hit. Since your initial diagnosis points towards a connection issue, it might be worth having the injectors themselves properly tested, though I think a garage would be best placed to do that. I eventually took mine in.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll get it inspected by a workshop. It was indeed a defective plug connection which cost 95€ to repair. I appreciate your assistance.

I have a 5008 diesel too and your symptoms sound very familiar. I had similar issues last year - loss of power and the occasional stall. Have you checked the EGR valve? A faulty EGR can cause a whole host of problems in diesel engines. It's worth a look, although I'm no expert.
