Peugeot 5008 Electric Steering Fault
Summary of the thread
The 2010 Peugeot 5008 diesel has an issue with the electric steering column adjustment, which is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar problem in another vehicle was caused by a corroded connector. The suggested solution involves checking fuses, relays, and wiring connections, with a recommendation to visit a workshop for a thorough inspection. The problem was confirmed to be a faulty connector, which was repaired at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip. You mentioned a corroded connector. Was it difficult to locate? Did it require any special tools?

It was a bit of a pain to find, to be honest. It was tucked away behind the dash. Didn't need any special tools, just a good light and some patience. Given your error code and the fact it's completely dead, it really does sound like a wiring fault. I'd advise visiting a workshop, it's not always easy to deal with all the electronics.

Thanks for the help! It turned out to be a faulty connector as suspected. Workshop confirmed it and the repair cost 95€. All working now.

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series, although the symptoms were slightly different. The electric steering adjustment failed completely. After some investigation, it turned out to be a corroded connector. Have you checked the obvious stuff like fuses and relays before diving in?
