Peugeot 5008 Engine Jerking Misfires
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Peugeot 5008 petrol with nearly 200,000 km is experiencing engine misfires, rough running, and jerking during acceleration, accompanied by a check engine light. Possible causes include a faulty ignition coil or fuel pump. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing a defective injector, which was confirmed as the problem in this case as well, leading to a successful repair.

The throttle response is awful, really sluggish. It's not constant, more like random bursts of jerking. It's scary when trying to overtake! Did yours do the same? What was it in the end?

Yep, that sounds familiar. Mine was also very random. I suggest going to a trusted workshop. They diagnosed a defective injector. Cost me around 500€, but it fixed the problem.

Wow, thanks for the tip! Took it to the workshop and you were spot on - injector was the culprit. Cost me 515€ in the end, but runs like new again. Cheers!

I had a similar problem with my 5008, though mine's a diesel. Check engine light and all. How's the throttle response when it's jerking? Is it consistent, or does it come and go?
