Peugeot 5008 Generator Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Peugeot 5008 diesel with 213,311 km is experiencing reduced engine power, a warning light, poor starting, flickering lights, and a generator fault error. These symptoms suggest a defective generator, possibly due to a failing alternator, bad voltage regulator, or worn brushes. Checking the battery voltage can help confirm the issue, and a professional diagnosis is recommended. Replacing the generator resolved the problem.

Good shout, I'll check that. If the voltage is low, does that definitively point to the generator, or could there be other culprits?

Low voltage strongly suggests the generator is failing. Could be a bad voltage regulator or worn brushes inside. While a bad battery could cause issues, the flickering lights and error code point towards the generator. Best to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop to be sure, though.

Thanks for the advice! Confirmed it was the generator. Replaced it and everything is running smoothly again. Repair cost was 960€.

Sounds like a dodgy alternator. Have you checked the voltage across the battery terminals when the engine's running? Should be around 14V. A significant drop could confirm your suspicion.
