Peugeot 5008 Heavy Steering Vibration

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2011 Peugeot 5008 diesel. It's only done 33060 km. Recently, the steering has become noticeably heavier, almost like the power steering is failing intermittently. Also, I'm getting a slight vibration through the steering wheel at certain speeds. I've checked the power steering fluid level, and it's fine. Could it be the angle sensor? I have read online that faulty coding of the steering angle sensor might cause something like this. I'm concerned it might mess with the electronic stability system. Anyone experienced anything similar?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my 5008 a while back. Steering got heavy, then the vibrations started. It’s likely the angle sensor playing up. Have you had the wheel alignment checked recently?

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't had the wheel alignment checked recently, but I didn't think that would cause the power steering to feel heavy. Was your issue definitely the angle sensor, or could it be something else like the steering column itself?

Pretty sure it was the angle sensor. The symptoms match. To be certain get it checked with a diagnostic tool. Best to head to a workshop; these things can be tricky to diagnose without the proper equipment.

Just wanted to let you know, you were spot on! Took it to a workshop, and the diagnostic tool confirmed the steering angle sensor was defective. They replaced it, and now the steering is back to normal. The final repair cost was 195€. Thanks so much for your help!
