Peugeot 5008 intake air temperature sensor issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2018 Peugeot 5008 gasoline. At 155114 km, the check engine light is on intermittently. I've noticed reduced engine power, and diagnostics show a code related to the intake air temperature. The engine also runs rough sometimes. Could a faulty intake air temperature sensor really be the culprit? I'm not thrilled about this!

I had similar symptoms on my 5008. Error codes pointing to the intake air temperature sensor can indeed cause those problems. Have you checked the sensor's temperature readings with an OBD scanner to confirm it's providing incorrect data?

I have checked. The readings are erratic and don't seem to correlate with the actual ambient temperature. My concern is, could there be another underlying issue affecting the sensor's performance, or is it more likely just a straightforward sensor failure?

Given the erratic readings, it's most likely a failed sensor. While other issues could theoretically influence it, sensor failure is the common cause. Replacing it would be my first step, and from my experience, solve the issue. In my case a visit to the workshop was unavoidable.

Replacing the intake air temperature sensor resolved the issue entirely. Engine power is back to normal, the check engine light is off, and the error code is gone. The repair cost me 155€. Thanks for the advice!
