Peugeot 5008 Overheating Issue

Hi, I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2014 Peugeot 5008 diesel. The engine is overheating, and it takes ages to reach operating temperature. I suspect a thermostat issue, possibly the map thermostat as I've read those are prone to failure. Anyone else had similar problems with temperature control in their 5008?

Summary of the thread

A 2014 Peugeot 5008 diesel is experiencing overheating and slow warm-up issues. The suspected cause is a faulty thermostat, particularly the map thermostat, which is known to fail. A similar case confirmed the thermostat as the problem, and the recommended solution is to have it checked and possibly replaced at a workshop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my 5008. Was your coolant level dropping at all? Or any weird smells?

Thanks for the quick reply! Coolant level seems fine, no obvious leaks. No weird smells either. Just the overheating and slow warm-up. Did yours have the same symptoms? What was the eventual fix?

Yep, same symptoms exactly. Turned out to be the thermostat. Best bet is to get it checked out at a workshop, they'll be able to confirm.

Appreciate the confirmation. I suspected as much. Will get it booked in. Thanks for the help!
