Peugeot 5008 rough start and power loss

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my 2021 Peugeot 5008 (gasoline engine). It's got around 41k km on the clock. Lately, it's been starting rough, the fuel consumption seems higher, and the engine feels like it's lost some power. Also, the idle is really uneven, and it even stalled a couple of times when stopped at lights. Could this be a clogged fuel injector or something similar?

Hey! Sounds frustrating. I had almost the exact same symptoms with my 5008! Rough start, bad idle, feeling like a loss of power... all of it. A dirty injection valve can definitely cause that, leading to misfires. Basically, the engine isn't getting the right air/fuel mixture in one or more cylinders. Have you noticed any difference in your emissions? That could be a symptom, too.

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the emissions, but I suppose that could be related. How did you end up fixing the problem? Did you try any DIY solutions, or did you just take it to a mechanic?

I'm no mechanic, and honestly, dealing with fuel injection stuff seemed a bit too complex for me. I took it straight to a trusted workshop. They confirmed it was a defective injection nozzle, probably due to clogging. They replaced it, and everything's been running smoothly since. Cost me about 515€ for the diagnosis and repair. Worth every penny to avoid the headache!

Okay, that's good to know. Sounds like I should probably skip the DIY attempts and get it checked out professionally. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! I'll book an appointment with my local garage and hope for a similar outcome.
