Peugeot 5008 Turbo Lag
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot 5008 owner reported issues with the check engine light, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption, suspecting turbo lag as the cause. Another owner with similar experiences suggested the problem might be related to a vacuum switching valve defect. After taking the car to a workshop, the initial suspicion was confirmed, and replacing the faulty valve resolved the issue, restoring the car's performance.

Compressor surge? Never really thought about it like that... What was it in your case? Was it something to do with the bypass valve or the pressure drop?

Yes, the sound was very similar to compressor surge. If I remember correctly, it was a defect in a vacuum switching valve. I would recommend that you go to a workshop.

Thanks a lot, that's super helpful. Turns out you were spot on! Took it to the shop, and the vacuum switching valve was indeed faulty. Cost me 140€, but she's running like new again!

I had a similar issue on my 5008. Same symptoms - felt like the car was constantly fighting to accelerate. Does it feel a bit like compressor surge when you accelerate?
