Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my old Opel Astra a few years back. Weak starts and the lights were all over the place. Did you check the battery voltage? It might be worth a shot.

Yeah, I thought about checking the voltage. What were the voltage readings on your Astra when you had the issue? Trying to get a baseline to compare to.

Can't recall the exact numbers, sorry. But the garage guys told me the battery sensor was faulty, messing with the charging system. If you are unsure, it's best if you get it checked out by a pro.

Okay, thanks for the input. I'm taking it to the workshop. The battery sensor was indeed defective. Repair cost me 315€. Appreciate the help!

I told you that the yellow battery light came on. I changed the battery and checked the alternator. Sometimes the start-stop works, sometimes it doesn't turn on. The light says there's an electrical problem. Could it be the BSI brain that controls the electrics? Is that the box on the right inside the engine?

Before considering the BSI (Body Systems Interface) as the issue, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Also, inspect the alternator belt for wear and proper tension. If these are fine, it might be worth having a professional diagnose the BSI, as it can be complex and affect various systems. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions!
