Peugeot 5008: Failure of the parking aid and general electrical problems
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot 5008 is experiencing failure of the parking aid and general electrical problems, including stored errors and flashing warning lights. The issue may be related to a faulty parking aid control unit, as a similar problem was resolved by replacing this component in another Peugeot model. It is recommended to have a professional mechanic assess and potentially replace the control unit to resolve the electrical issues.

Hey, thanks for the tip about the control unit. It's reassuring to hear that it worked for you! One more question: Can you remember what you paid for the replacement? And have you had any other problems since then? Hope you have a moment to tell me about it. Thank you!

Hello, I'm glad if I can help. So yes, I remember it. It cost me €355 to replace the faulty parking aid control unit. It wasn't exactly a bargain, but since I've had it repaired, everything has been working perfectly. The trouble with the parking aid not working is a thing of the past. So far, no further problems and I hope it stays that way. It was definitely worth it. So I would recommend you do the same. Go for it!

Hey, thanks for the info. 355 is a bit expensive, but if it fixes the problems and works reliably, it's probably worth the investment. I'll take your advice and take my car in for repairs. Thanks again for your help!

2018 5008 model. My yellow battery warning light came on and it says electrical problem. And the stop-start system doesn't always work. I even changed the battery. The mechanic's diagnostic tool shows five faults.

Start by checking the alternator to ensure it's charging the battery properly, as a faulty alternator can cause electrical issues and affect the stop-start system. If the alternator is functioning correctly, inspect the battery connections for any corrosion or loose connections. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

We saw the dynamo, but we'll see it again. We put in a new battery. Could it be something else? Does the PDF play a role?

If the alternator and battery connections are fine, the issue might be related to the vehicle's electrical system or a faulty sensor. The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) itself shouldn't directly cause a battery warning light, but if there are faults related to the DPF, it could affect the vehicle's overall performance and trigger warning lights. Consider checking for any fault codes related to the DPF or other sensors. Keep me updated on your progress or if you have more questions!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2011 Peugeot 3008. It definitely sounds like the parking aid control unit is faulty. The last time I was at the garage, the guys completely replaced the control unit. It was a hefty job as the control unit is quite deep in the electronics. However, the good news is that they fixed the problem and since then everything is back to normal, so no more flashing warning lights. So replacing the control unit could also be the solution for you. But you know what you do, go to a good garage and let the professionals sort it out. Good luck with that, hope it helps!
