Peugeot 508 AC Failure

My 2021 Peugeot 508 gasoline engine, with 22893 km, has an AC issue. Error in memory, warm air, AC won't engage, and a speedometer warning light. Diagnostics point to a refrigerant compressor failure, maybe from a defective AC control unit. Anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar AC problem with my 2018 Volvo XC60. The symptoms are almost identical. Did you check for refrigerant leaks? Could be a pinhole causing havoc. Like a slow puncture; eventually, you're going nowhere.

Without equipment, it's tricky to pinpoint. Common spots are the compressor connections, the condenser (in front of the radiator), and along the refrigerant lines. I'd advise taking it to a workshop, given the complexity and environmental impact. They have the tools to diagnose it properly. Like fixing a broken bone yourself; best left to the professionals!

Understood. Thanks for the advice. I'll schedule an appointment. Hoping for a simple fix but seems I will be paying 980€ to get the air conditioning control unit replaced. At least the summer heat won't get to me anymore.
