Peugeot 508 Air Suspension Problems

Hi, I have a 2012 Peugeot 508 hybrid with about 39000 km. The car won't lift anymore, and it's leaning. I'm getting error messages and a warning light. The low beams are pointing way too high or low! I've checked for damage, but haven't seen anything. Could this be a compressor failure? Is there anything I can easily check myself?

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Peugeot 508 hybrid is experiencing air suspension problems, with the car failing to lift and leaning, accompanied by error messages and a warning light. The issue might be due to a compressor failure, as indicated by an OBD2 error code. It is suggested to check for defective cables or plug connections, but professional diagnosis and repair are recommended to avoid further damage, with a similar issue previously resolved by replacing a defective cable or connection at a cost of 95€.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Greetings. I had a similar issue with my 508 involving the suspension and ride height. Does the error memory store a specific code related to the suspension pump or any of the air struts? What did you use to read the error codes? Perhaps it is showing a defective cable or plug connection?

Hey, thanks! I used a generic OBD2 reader, and it gave me a code related to the air suspension compressor. I didn't see anything specific about cables or connections, though. Where should I be looking for these connections? Is it easy to get to the compressor itself?

If the error code points directly to the compressor, and you've already noticed leaning, it quite possibly is the compressor. Given the symptoms, I'd advise against further self-diagnosis without proper equipment. Continuing to drive it could damage other suspension components. Get it to a workshop. I had a defective cable or plug connection replaced, and the repair cost was 95€. Suspension, ride height, compressor failure, suspension pump, air struts all might be related, so it is hard to tell without expert knowledge.

Thanks! Sounds like I'm better off taking it to a pro. I will share the solution. My issue was also a defective cable or plug connection, and the repair cost me 95€.
