Peugeot 508 Anti-Theft Alarm Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Peugeot 508 owner experienced a malfunctioning anti-theft alarm system, with an error stored in the error memory and the alarm not functioning. The issue was suspected to be related to the alarm system being coded to activate the optical locking (indicators). After taking the car to a workshop, the problem was resolved by recoding the alarm system, restoring its proper function.

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't considered the battery. Was your Opel's issue also related to a stored error code? Did the alarm stop working altogether, or was it just triggering randomly?

Yeah, there was an error code about low voltage from the alarm module. The alarm was mostly going off randomly, but sometimes it wouldn't arm at all. I'd say it's worth getting the battery checked, but if that's not it, you might need to take it to a workshop to have the alarm system diagnosed properly.

Took it to a local workshop, and you were right, it was something strange. The alarm was coded to activate the optical locking (indicators) as the likely cause. They recoded it, and now it works perfectly. The repair cost me 45€. Thanks for your help!

Hey, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. The alarm would just randomly go off in the middle of the night. Did you try checking the battery? A weak battery can sometimes cause weird electrical issues with the alarm system.
