Thanks! I haven't checked the pressure sensor specifically. Where is it located, and is it something I can test myself without special tools? What were the exact symptoms you experienced with your car? Was your fuel efficiency also affected?

The sensor's location can vary slightly, but it's usually near the fuel tank or charcoal canister. Testing requires some diagnostic equipment. Given your symptoms (stalling, check engine light), and that cleaning the purge valve didn't help, a faulty charcoal filter is a prime suspect. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis to avoid further complications.

It was indeed the activated charcoal filter, just like you suggested! Apparently, it had a leak. The workshop replaced it, and the check engine light is gone, and the engine no longer stalls. The total repair cost me 275€.

I had a similar problem with my 508. The symptoms sound very much like a defective activated charcoal filter. Has anyone checked the pressure sensor? It is part of the emission control system, and can cause such issues.
