Peugeot 508 high voltage system error

I've got a 2017 Peugeot 508 hybrid, and recently it's been throwing up a high-voltage system error. It's only done 11515 km. The error pops up in the memory, the engine sometimes just shuts off completely, and I've noticed a serious drop in power when it does run. Anyone experienced anything similar? Pretty annoying!

I own a 508 too, and your problem sounds awfully familiar. I had a similar issue with the high-voltage system a while back. The error messages, engine shutdowns, and power reduction all point toward an electrical fault. Have you had the inverter checked? Or considered a faulty voltage sensor within the high-voltage system? The error is probably related to a system malfunction.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'similar issue,' was it exactly the same? And did the inverter turn out to be the culprit? I'm trying to get an idea of what I'm walking into before I take it to the shop.

Yes, it was indeed very similar. The inverter issue was the ultimate cause of the problem, I needed to go to the workshop. If you have error stored in memory with reduced engine power and engine shuts off it can be the heavily discharged or defective battery.

Right, got it. Thanks a bunch for the info! I took it to a local workshop, and they found that the battery was indeed heavily discharged and defective, like you suggested. Cost me 290€ to get sorted. Appreciate the help!
