Peugeot 508 Hybrid Engine Stalling

I'm having issues with my 2016 Peugeot 508 hybrid. At 205386 kilometers, the engine runs rough and stalls at idle. The check engine light is on, and the car jerks when accelerating. Diagnostics suggest a defective ignition coil, maybe a bad cable or plug. Anyone else seen this?

Hey, I had similar issues with my 508, though it wasn't a hybrid. Rough running, stalling... the whole deal. Double-check those coil connections like you said – wiggle them and see if anything changes. When did you last replace your spark plugs? Could be worth a look before digging into the coil.

Did you also have the check engine light and jerking during acceleration? Could fouled spark plugs really mimic a failing ignition coil?

Yep, check engine light was on, and the jerking was noticeable, especially uphill. It could be the plugs or the coil, since they're both part of the ignition system. With those kilometers, it could easily be the coil. If you're not comfortable checking the wiring, get it looked at by a workshop.

Based on your recommendation and my mechanic's advice, I replaced the ignition coil. The cable connection was defective, as I suspected. The repair was 95€. The car runs great now. Thanks for the help!
