Fuel rail pressure readings, huh? How exactly do I check those? And if it is the regulator, is that a dealer-only type of fix, or can a local mechanic tackle it?

Checking the fuel rail pressure requires diagnostic equipment to read the sensor data, so it is best left to professionals. Based on your description and considering the timing after the filter change, the fuel pressure regulator is highly suspect. While technically a competent mechanic could replace it, proper diagnosis is essential to confirm the defect and avoid unnecessary work. Given the hybrid system's complexity, a workshop with experience in hybrid Peugeot models is advisable.

Thanks a lot for confirming my suspicion. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – faulty fuel pressure regulator, probably triggered when I changed the fuel filter. They replaced it for 45€, and now it runs like new!

The symptoms you describe – check engine light, stalling, and power loss – strongly suggest a fuel pressure issue, especially after a fuel filter change. Have you checked the fuel rail pressure readings? A significant pressure drop could indicate a defective fuel pressure regulator. These regulators are quite sensitive, and if it isn't the regulator itself, the error might be rooted in an air leak in the fuel lines that are now causing the pressure drop.
