Peugeot 508 Immobilizer Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Peugeot 508 hybrid with 35,307 km is experiencing starting issues, with the engine either refusing to start or dying shortly after ignition. The problem is linked to the immobilizer system, likely due to corrupted key programming. The suggested solution was to have the key recoded at a professional shop, which resolved the issue.

It cranks, yes, just won't stay running. I did try the spare, same thing. Is there any way to check the connection without ripping apart half the car?

Hmm, if both keys are doing the same thing, and it cranks, then it's likely not the keys themselves but something with the immobilizer system reading them. Honestly, tracing electrical gremlins like that in modern cars is a nightmare. Might be best to bite the bullet and take it to a shop with the right diagnostics.

Yeah, you're probably right. Took it in, turns out the key programming was corrupted somehow. They recoded it, and she's purring like a kitten again. 45€, not too bad I guess. Thanks for the advice!

Sounds like a pain. Does it crank at all, or is it totally dead? Have you tried the spare key? It could also be a dodgy connection in the anti-theft system.
